Walk for a Cause — Mouth Cancer, Polio & Drug Awareness | Karachi
The Oral Health Committee of Rotary International District 3271 organised a "Walk for a Cause" in Karachi to raise awareness on mouth cancer, polio prevention, and drug abuse. The walk commenced at 7:10 AM from McDonald's and concluded at Nishan-e-Pakistan with a closing ceremony attended by Rotarians, community leaders, media, and distinguished guests.
District Governor Shahzad Sabir emphasised Rotary's community service mission, stressing that prevention, early detection, and vaccination require continued public participation. DG MOFA Irfan Soomro highlighted the importance of partnerships between Rotary, government, and community organisations. The event was chaired by Dr. Syed Naveed Manzoor, Chair Oral Health Committee and President RC Karachi Pearl, with Dr. Kausar Tariq, Co-Chair Oral Health Committee and President RC Karachi Sunset Millennium, playing a key role in organising the initiative.
The walk was hosted by RCK Pearl, RCK Sunset Millennium, RCK Quaid, RCK Educational Development, RCK Happy Palace, and RCK Environment, with RCK Roshni, RCK Centennial, and RCK Sunrise extending their support. Distinguished guests including DGE Fahad Sikandar, DGN Abdul Jabbar Sheikh, MPA Rehan Bandukda, Dr. Noor ul Wahab of the Pakistan Dental Association, Major Saleem of the Anti-Narcotics Force, and representatives from Kiran Hospital and HOL Foundation were recognised at the closing ceremony hosted by Advisor PP Syed Kashif Rafi.
