Rotary Club of Karachi Pearl, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Karachi Climate Avenue, successfully organized a Mental Health & Oral Health Awareness Session at ILMA University on 23rd July 2026. The initiative brought together two important aspects of overall well-being—mental health and oral health—with the objective of educating and empowering university students through awareness, practical guidance, and preventive healthcare.

The programme commenced with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Mansoor-uz-Zafar, Vice Chancellor of ILMA University. The Mental Health Awareness Session was conducted by Ms. Sonia Nawab, Psychosocial Therapist, Corporate Trainer and President of Rotary Club of Karachi Climate Avenue. She addressed the emotional, academic, social and relationship-related pressures faced by young people, particularly Generation Z, and introduced students to practical stress-management and relaxation techniques.

District Governor Shahzad Sabir, Rotary International District 3271, appreciated the collaborative initiative and highlighted the importance of physical and mental well-being in building confidence and improving quality of life.

The Oral Health Awareness Session was conducted by Dr. Syed Naveed Manzoor, President of Rotary Club of Karachi Pearl, CEO of Bites & Braces Dental and Chair of the Oral Health Committee. The session focused on preventive dental care, correct oral hygiene practices, maternal and child oral health, the relationship between oral and general health, and environmentally responsible alternatives such as bamboo toothbrushes.

Following the awareness sessions, an Oral Health Camp was conducted where students received practical demonstrations of correct toothbrushing techniques and were provided with new toothbrushes. Shields were also presented to speakers and distinguished guests in recognition of their contribution.

The programme was attended by Rotarians, healthcare professionals, educationists, university representatives, community leaders and student volunteers. The collaboration successfully combined education, emotional well-being, preventive healthcare and practical skills, creating a meaningful awareness initiative for university students and promoting healthier long-term habits.
