Climate Change & Health Awareness Session | Community Midwifery School, Kharadar General Hospital | RC Karachi New Central
Rotary Club of Karachi New Central organised an awareness session on "Climate Change and its Effect on Health in Pakistan" at the Community Midwifery School, Kharadar General Hospital on 20th July 2026. The session was facilitated by Dr. Arjumand Rabbani, RCKNC Polio Chair and Rotary District 3271 Co-Chair Disease Prevention & Treatment, who discussed the major causes of climate change and its adverse health impacts — including heat-related illnesses, water-borne diseases, food insecurity, maternal and child malnutrition, and disruption of healthcare services. Dr. Arjumand encouraged students to adopt sustainable practices such as conserving natural resources, reducing waste, planting trees, and promoting sustainable lifestyles to protect both the environment and public health. The session was attended by 27 students and 2 faculty members, reflecting a growing awareness among future healthcare professionals of the deep connection between environmental sustainability and community health.
