Rotary International President Elect Larry A. Lunsford visits Rotary Club Of Karachi Sunset Millennium flagship project at Karabai Karimjee School
Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium’s President Dr Kausar Malik and her team were privileged to welcome RI President-elect Larry A. Lunsford to their flagship project the Karabai Karimjee School in Lyari on Monday, 27th July 2026. The RI President-elect was accompanied by DG Shahzad Sabir, RI Trustee Aziz Memon, DGE Fahad Sikandar, DGN Jabbar Sheikh, other district leaders, First Lady Sumera, and DG Shahzad Sabir’s two daughters.
The visit showcased the transformative work by Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium District 3271 in partnership with the school’s leadership. This work directly advances the Rotary District 3271’s overarching strategic vision of sustainable and lasting impact, seamlessly integrating community empowerment with Rotary’s Core Areas of Focus.
The delegation toured the Takmil Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) classes, IT lab and vocational skills centre, and multi-purpose room witnessing how infrastructure and alternate education pathways are transforming the academic landscape for young people in Lyari. They also visited the immunization and student wellness center where President-elect Larry A. Lunsford and district leaders administered polio drops to children. The Centre was established by the Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium in partnership with the government to provide critical immunization and with Greenstar to provide immediate medical care for students.
The tour also included the high-capacity water chillers for clean drinking water and segregated washroom facilities funded by the club ensuring a healthier and more hygienic environment for students.
The visit concluded with RI President-elect Larry A. Lunsford playing a friendly penalty-shootout against PDG Aftab Imam and the girls football team at the school as a symbolic gesture to kick Polio out of Pakistan. While the President Elect put his best foot forward, the outstanding abilities of the girls football team got every goal through.
It was an honor to share the project with Rotary International and District Leadership, allowing them to witness firsthand the profound and lasting impact these sustainable upgrades are making on students and the wider Lyari community.
