Maternal and Child Health Camp | Baba Island | RC Karachi Roshni

Rotary Club of Karachi Roshni, in collaboration with Captain Izhar of the Navy League, organised a Maternal and Child Health Camp at Baba Island, serving approximately 50 to 60 mothers from the local community. The camp commenced with an educational session by Dr. Muneeza, who highlighted essential healthcare measures for women during pregnancy planning and the prenatal period, emphasising proper nutrition, regular medical check-ups, and maternal care. This was followed by a session conducted by Dr. Mrs. Naveed, who educated participants on newborn care and child development, covering breastfeeding, immunization, nutrition, hygiene, and child care from birth through the toddler stage. Both doctors then devoted two hours to individual medical consultations, addressing health concerns and prescribing medications where required. The final session was delivered by Rtn. Anita Kirmani, who spoke on the importance of general hygiene and cleanliness to improve family health and prevent common illnesses. The camp was facilitated by Rtn. Atiya Izhar and Rtn. Anita Kirmani, whose dedication ensured its smooth execution. This initiative reaffirms RCK Roshni's commitment to serving vulnerable communities under Rotary's Maternal and Child Health Area of Focus.
